Although the recent weather may not have you thinking about hot chocolate, snuggling by the fire and ice skating, the Piedmont Park Ice Rink is opening on Monday, November 22, whether you’re ready or not. The whole shebang kicks off with a Breakfast with Santa event in the morning (wait–shouldn’t these kids be in school?!) followed by a whole lot of Atlantans gliding around and falling down. Because really, how often do Atlanta residents go ice skating as a general recreational activity?
The Rink is indoors, with a heated tent, modern amenities and music piped in through an awesome sound system. There’s also rink-side dining available for epic people-watching possibilities. Tickets are $10 to get in the door, plus an extra $5 to rent skates. Go ahead and buy your tickets online now (the Rink can accomodate 200 people at a time).
