Anyone with an iota of fashion sense would normally cringe at the thought of wearing a Minnie Mouse sweater. In public. On purpose. But by adding a whole lotta low price points, trendy silhouettes, and a liberal amount of sequins, Forever 21 is determined to make you do just that.
They’re trying to make Disney cool again, and it just might work. The new Minnie Muse collection, hitting stores and the web just in time for the holidays, is the latest from the Forever 21 Twist offshoot, which samples interesting themed trends in small capsule collections for a limited time. In true F21 style, everything is under $30, and there’s an interesting combination of casual looks, “club” looks, jewelry and notebooks to appeal to a variety of tastes and gifting needs. The overabundance of the iconic mouse-ears-plus-bow make this collection iffy, but the addition of a reimagined Minnie Mouse sketch shows promise. Our picks: any of the graphic tees, the Rosette earmuffs, the Faux-pearl Bow Headband, the Fishnet tights, and the one cardigan that isn’t heinous.
