In spring of next year, Phipps Plaza will be home to a 32,000-square-foot Legoland Discovery Center, complete with a 4-D movie theater, Dragon Castle Ride, multiple themed play areas and more. Atlanta will be the third US city to boast one, beside Chicago and Dallas. Although it doesn’t sound like much of a fit for a mall that’s anchored by a Saks and a Nieman Marcus, the store location is placed to best rake in the tourist dollars, according to an expert who spoke to What Now, Atlanta. The retail part of the store is open to the public, but the fun indoor-theme-park-like parts will cost close to $20 per adult and possibly $15 per child.
The new store will be located in the food court. Construction will begin in July.
